A tale that starts off with a misdirection, a bear definitely overstays it’s welcome, strange poems, and even stranger tales of a detective who betrays an old woman. Mates, this whole episode is wacky and strange – not over the top, but just has bizarre stories. I bring you tales from Cobwebs of an Empty Skull by Dod Grile published in 1874.

I have to say this guy writes ahead of his time, and pokes fun at his audience and the norms of the time. I totally stumbled across him, and his wit, choice of words, and blatant disregard for what their audience wants or expects in a story. So, let me know what you think, if you want more from this author, there is something charming about the writing – also bare in mind it has terminology that may offend, so my apologies but it’s nothing we can’t handle I think.
