Wel­come lis­ten­ers to Part 2 of Cob­webs for an Emp­ty Skull, tales that are real­ly quite wacky. Today you’ll hear a sto­ry about busi­ness oppor­tu­ni­ties in a per­sons hair, a ter­ri­ble mag­i­cal joke, the absurd dif­fi­cul­ties of sea far­ing treach­er­ous waters, and an indul­gent Genie Giant. “Sheesh say that one a cou­ple of times”!

Now, these sto­ries were writ­ten in 1874 so they may have strange views shared – if any­thing is offen­sive I cut it out but I like to keep as much of the orig­i­nal con­tent, even if it’s on the nose, in the sto­ry as pos­si­ble. Cou­ple of words I want to define for you, because, being writ­ten in old Eng­lish some things just don’t make sense. The word ardour is the same as say­ing pas­sion, love, zeal or fer­vour, and catholic­i­ty means broad mind­ed­ness and lib­er­al­i­ty.
