Tibetan Tales — The Promise of Massang — From Calf to Riches

A man wish­es for a Calf and is giv­en a child. Instead of joy, he’s struck with the bur­den of look­ing after anoth­er life, in which he can bare­ly look after his own. He denies the young boy, a gift from the gods so it seems, turned away…but the boy’s love for the man is strong, strong enough to put him on a quest, to be accept­ed. In being turned away, the boy becomes something…bigger, and bet­ter.
